Australian Adventures Part Four

So, what I have I learnt in my nearly four weeks away.

I have learnt that I miss home – especially C, and the fur-ball baby, Maslow.

I have re-confirmed my faith in people and my ability to judge a good guy or gal from the chaff. A special thanks to my colleagues on the away team Down Under. A job well done. And, you’ve been good company and I am relieved that there have not been any casualties……yet. Your reward will be in Heaven…..

I have re-confirmed my opinion that America and Americans are the most foreign people I have met – and what does “acclimate” mean? Surely it is a made-up word? But, to be fair, they have educated me in all things dumplings and introduced me to a new variety of Bourbon, so it has not been all bad. And in return they have discovered a myriad new forms of confectionary including chocolate covered pineapple, and Jaffa cake chocolates and new words like “biccies” Our hosts knew how to keep their attention and motivation.

My fellow Brit has come out of his shell too! Last night he was keeping the client entertained until five am, in various bars and hotel rooms. What goes on tour, stays on tour………steady on! I had retired with the ladies (of a certain age) around ten thirty. I am, however, hoping that I can use my client’s corruption of an innocent to my favour in the negotiation.

And, I have re-confirmed my love of Sydney and of Australia and Australians in general. Open and honest to a fault with a humour that can wither you…….. and the Kiwis ain’t half bad too!

And, in just thirty hours or so of travel, taking in two planes, four airports, the odd glass of vino, and about 150 movies, I should be back where I want to be. In the arms of my beautiful wife.
