Now I love a conspiracy theory as good as the next man. Am I missing the point about the apparent furore of our American cousins regarding this WikiLeaks business? George Dubya Bush, the former US President, would be top of my list for likely whistle blowers!
So far the leaks have done little more than provide a framework for the justification of an even more aggressive US Foreign policy.
So, the Gulf Arabs and Israel want the US to bomb the heart out of Iran’s nuclear programme. Various intelligence agencies (scuse the oxymoron) are concerned about the links between the Pakistani Secret Services and Al Qaida and the possibility of them providing the materials for a dirty bomb. And, at the precise time that the US is carrying out joint military exercises with the South Koreans, we learn that China no longer sees the muppets in North Korea as useful allies.
So, seems to me that the US has a diplomatic mandate to nuke the f**k out of Iran, Pakistan, and North Korea. George W would surely have acted. Conversely, this must all serve to demonstrate the restraint being shown by the present Obama administration.
