RIP Cadbury

cadbury

Well it looks as if Cadbury Chocolate has gone for a Burton, so to speak. It is not enough that they ceased to sell an old childhood favourite of mine, Old Jamaica, but now they’ve gone and sold out to the Yank cheesemakers (and they are not blessed), Kraft.

It is yet another piece of Empire that has lost its way. It is a sad day for children and chocaholics everywhere. Nobody makes chocolate that tastes quite like Cadbury. It is/was the best in the world. What will become of dentistry now?

It is a shame though. Another great British brand lost to a long list of foreign takeovers – HP Sauce, Rolls Royce, P&O, Walkers crisps (again, nothing quite tastes like a Walkers crisp!), etc, etc.

It makes you wonder if it was worth winning the war! Easter eggs may never be the same again…..
