Pirates

This was taken from the international version of the Times newspaper. I am not sure whether “ginbattle” is a typo or not – if I’d just been given $7 million I might have a celebratory snifter myself.

Why does the international community tolerate these Somali pirates? Why do companies pay the huge ransoms? Surely it would be cheaper to pay for a few marines or mercenaries to man the decks!
